North Lake Tahoe Halloween Events

Fall in the Lake Tahoe basin is a wonderful time of changing leaves, crisp weather, and often sunny warm days. The crowds of Summer are long gone, but Winter groups have not yet arrived. If you’re spending time up in Tahoe this Fall, you may be wondering how to celebrate Halloween this coming weekend. The weather is shaping up to be clear and cool with highs in the 50’s during the days and lows in the mid-30s. It should be a beautiful weekend to enjoy some spooky good times, great music, and fabulous company at all of these great events in the area.

Start your weekend off with a family-friendly downtown celebration in Historic Downtown Truckee. The annual Halloween Parade is a fun event held on the Friday before Halloween each year starting at 6 pm sharp. This year, it is Friday 10/28. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to find parking near Downtown Truckee and a great spot for a view of this popular event. The parade goes through downtown and is followed by Trick-or-treating through the Community Arts Center. Businesses along the Historic Downtown Truckee corridor go all out with decorations and the vibe is fantastic. The weather is predicted to be clear and in the 40s for the evening, so dress warm and be ready for a good time for all ages!

If you’re looking for some time to let loose for some adult Halloween fun on Saturday 10/29, the annual Creeper’s Ball at the Crystal Bay Club in Crystal Bay, NV can’t be beat. Tainted Love Band is a 1980s pop cover band that “delivers something for every fan of music: pulsing dance beats, fist-pumping rock anthems, and guilty-pleasure sing-alongs, all performed with the highest level of musicianship and state-of-the-art sound and lighting”. The show starts at 9 pm and is a well-attended, well-loved annual tradition in North Lake Tahoe. Plan for a safe ride home using the TART Connect App or local taxis like Anytime Taxi (530-414-4187) or Tahoe Taxi Express (530-386-5559). Advance purchase of tickets is highly recommended.

On Halloween day, join in on the fun in Downtown Tahoe City for a very fun, family and pet-friendly, Trick-or-Treating experience from 4 pm-6 pm. Businesses and residents alike are dressed to the nines handing out candy and delighting kids. The official event is from 4-6 pm, so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to find parking and make your way downtown. Public parking lots can be found off Grove St behind Fat Cat Restaurant as well as off Commons Beach Rd, near the Tahoe City Community Arts Center. Check out this promotional video for a taste of the fun in Downtown Tahoe City. The event is hosted by the Tahoe City Public Utility District and is just one of the many incredible events they put on each year for our community.

After you have your fill of Trick-or-Treating, head on down to Moe’s BBQ for a family-friendly Halloween party with live music, a kid’s buffet, crafts, games, and a pinata. Moe’s serves up top-notch BBQ and the beers from Three Sheets Brewery are on tap all night as well. Live music is by Hattie Craven & YLF.

**Bonus event for Incline Village residents: on Thursday 10/27, residents of Incline Village have a chance to celebrate at their annual Trail of Treats & Terror from 3:30-6 pm. This family and pet-friendly event starts at the Aspen Grove Community Center located at 960 Lakeshore Blvd in Incline Village.

Have a safe and fun Halloween in beautiful North Lake Tahoe!
